co.brick talents — powered by AI, powered by people. We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Lead to take day-to-day technical ownership of a ~15-person Poland-based engineering organization (spanning Backend, Frontend, AI/ML, Data, QA, and DevOps).

Our end client is a US-based company operating a proprietary, AI-integrated SaaS platform in a regulated (healthcare-adjacent) sector, built on a modern AWS serverless stack.

As the first dedicated technical leader embedded directly with the offshore team, you will bridge the gap between regional delivery squads and US-based executive leadership (reporting directly to a Fractional CIO).

This strategic role is positioned as a direct path to senior/VP-level engineering leadership within 12–24 months as the organization scales.

Details

Role: Engineering Lead

Allocation: Full-time (1 FTE), long-term B2B contract.

Location: 100% remote (with possible hybrid)

Working Hours: Requires reasonable daily overlap with US business hours.

Reporting Line: US-based Fractional CIO.

Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership: Provide daily technical direction across multiple cross-functional squads (comprising ~15 engineers across backend, frontend, data, ML, QA, and DevOps).

Quality & Architecture: Maintain architectural coherence across squads, enforce rigorous code review standards, manage technical debt, and escalate high-level, strategic architectural changes to the CIO.

Sprint & Delivery Management: Oversee sprint-level delivery planning, manage cross-squad dependencies, and drive estimation accuracy.

Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary technical point of contact for senior, non-technical US stakeholders—translating technical risks and delivery progress into clear business metrics.

Organizational Scaling: Support hiring, onboarding, and the continuous technical growth of the engineering team over the next 12–18 months.

Requirements

Leadership Track Record: 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, including 4+ years of dedicated technical leadership (Tech Lead / Engineering Manager) spanning multiple teams.

Client-Facing/Offshore Experience: Proven experience leading distributed or offshore teams, ideally within a client-facing or vendor-delivery context.

Full-Stack Technical Fluency: Strong hands-on architectural experience with AWS Serverless infrastructure (Lambda), Python/FastAPI, and modern frontend frameworks (ideally Angular/TypeScript).

Communication Mastery: Fluent professional English. Exceptional soft skills with the ability to serve as the highly visible 'technical face' of the team to senior corporate stakeholders.

Sovereignty: Must be based in Poland and fully comfortable managing the necessary US time-zone overlap.

Strong Pluses

Practical experience delivering AI/LLM-integrated features in production (e.g., document classification, automated parsing, or RAG pipelines).

Prior engineering background inside highly regulated industries (Healthcare, Medtech, Fintech, or Govtech).
