Senior Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior Test Automation Engineer to spearhead our Next-Gen QA practices within a high-traffic retail environment. In this role, you will shift away from conventional scripting, relying instead on autonomous coding agents and LLM-assisted workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex) as your primary development toolkit. You will leverage these systems to generate test code, refactor legacy frameworks, and validate complex enterprise integration points—focusing heavily on Java, BDD practices, and SOAP/REST APIs.

Responsibilities

Utilize AI coding tools to accelerate requirement analysis, write executable spec files, generate robust test code, and perform autonomous debugging and refactoring.

Design and implement end-to-end integration test suites using Java, JUnit, and Cucumber/Gherkin targeting critical enterprise interfaces, specifically SOAP web services.

Evolve existing automated testing architectures to support seamless, AI-assisted code generation and execution within modern CI/CD pipelines.

Expand coverage for complex business flows, optimize execution speeds, and integrate automated verification checks directly into build workflows.

Requirements

Proven daily hands-on practice using developer agents and AI coding environments (Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity, or similar) to write, optimize, and maintain production-grade code.

Core Technology Stack:

Languages & Frameworks: Java, JUnit, Cucumber (Gherkin syntax for BDD)

Integration Testing: Deep experience testing web services, with specific emphasis on SOAP protocols and API testing

Architecture & Pipelines: Hands-on experience scaling test frameworks and integrating test execution into CI/CD workflows

Nice to Have:

Continuous Integration tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions)

Enterprise test management tools (Jira / Xray)

Relational database querying (Oracle SQL)

Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n)
