Project Overview We are seeking an independent Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to architect and provision a greenfield, production-ready AWS foundation for a healthcare application currently migrating from a containerised OVH environment. You will take complete ownership of infrastructure delivery from day one with minimal onboarding—building out networking, compute, database, IAM, logging, secrets, backups, and disaster recovery to meet HIPAA-aligned security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Networking: Provision the AWS account/US region baseline, build segmented VPCs (public/private subnets), deploy containerized workloads (ECS/Fargate), and set up ALB, ACM, and TLS 1.2+ ingress.

Security & Compliance: Implement IAM, RBAC, MFA, KMS encryption, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and CloudWatch while enforcing production/non-production separation and PHI controls.

Data, Backup & DR: Deploy encrypted RDS/Aurora, configure AWS Backup, cross-AZ resilience, baseline DR setups, and long-term protected audit-log retention in S3.

DevSecOps & Documentation: Adapt existing OVH CI/CD pipelines to AWS, implement Secrets Manager, secret/dependency scanning, and document the architecture.

Must-Have Requirements

Experience: 5+ years of DevOps/Cloud experience with strong hands-on AWS production design.

IaC: Terraform, Cloud

Formation, or equivalent.

Containers & Pipelines: Docker, CI/CD, and production container deployments using ECS/Fargate (or managed container compute).

Networking & Ingress: Secure VPC design (subnet segmentation), ALB, ACM, and TLS configuration.

Security & Operations: Deep expertise in IAM/RBAC/MFA, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Config, and S3.

Data & Disaster Recovery: RDS/Aurora (encryption & automated backups), AWS Backup, and baseline recovery strategies.

Ownership: Proven ability to work independently and drive end-to-end infrastructure delivery.

Nice to HaveAWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty).

Experience in HIPAA, healthcare, or other regulated environments.

Hands-on experience migrating workloads from OVH to AWS.

Advanced Terraform expertise.

S3 Object Lock / WORM-style log retention experience.
