Senior Java Backend Developer

The consultant will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining our Java-based applications that handle taxation, account management, and investment processing for our pension and savings products.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Java applications supporting savings and investment products

• Build and enhance calculation engines ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple countries
• Develop solutions supporting complex business processes, tax authority integrations, and customer-facing reporting
• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor developers and act as a code reviewer and design sparring partner
• Promote practical engineering practices across the development teamUse AI-assisted development and automation responsibly to improve productivity, quality, and learning
• Contribute strong collaboration and analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges Requirements:

Strong experience in Java 21 and Java-based application development

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks
• Proven experience with relational databases and PostgreSQL SQL
• Practical experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, MQ, or similar protocols
• Strong proficiency in Java frameworks including Spring and Hibernate
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming data
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsVery good command of English, both spoken and written
