About the role

We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer with 5+ years of professional experience and proven hands-on experience in banking to join the AFC (Anti-Financial Crime) System Management Unit within the Financial Crime Risk Management Department.

You will help develop a new Investigation Platform, supporting the Migration project’s objectives and delivery timelines. You will drive user-centered design across the full product lifecycle, from research and discovery through design, prototyping, validation, and usability testing.

Working closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams, you will create intuitive, scalable user experiences that support investigation and operational processes within the AFC domain.

Practical banking experience is essential. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on delivery of complex design work; theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and deliver complex, high-impact product features from discovery through implementation.
  • Conduct user research and gather requirements to understand investigator and operational needs.
  • Translate user insights into concepts, interaction designs, and actionable improvements.
  • Create high-fidelity interfaces and interactive prototypes.
  • Validate designs through usability testing and incorporate findings into subsequent iterations.
  • Contribute to and maintain design systems and component libraries.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure designs account for implementation constraints.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly and build alignment across stakeholders.
  • Support delivery within cross-functional Agile teams.

  • 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience.

  • Proven hands-on experience in banking.

  • Experience leading the full design lifecycle, including:

  • User research and requirements gathering.

  • Concept development and interaction design.

  • High-fidelity UI design and prototyping.

  • Design validation and usability testing.

  • Ability to translate research findings into practical design improvements.

Tools and implementation

  • Strong proficiency with Figma.
  • Experience with Lokalise.
  • Experience using design-related plugins and AI-powered design tools.
  • Experience contributing to and maintaining design systems.
  • Experience working with component libraries.
  • Understanding of web technologies, modern development processes, and technical implementation constraints.

Communication and collaboration

  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Confident, engaging presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and explain design decisions persuasively.
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Highly fluent spoken and written English.
