AI Product Engineer — desktop + mobile app

What we doI run a boutique, profitable product studio. The flagship is an AI assistant for small-business owners: a desktop app for Mac and Windows with paying customers, built in TypeScript and Python, agent-driven under the hood. Alongside it: a couple of mobile apps (React Native / Expo) and a Node backend handling payments and fulfillment.

What you'd do- Ship features and fixes with AI agents across the stack — desktop app, mobile apps, backend. Small team means no 'not my layer.'- Own releases end-to-end: build, sign, notarize, upload, verify. We take shipping discipline seriously (every release is checksummed and logged).- Work AI-native. The dev workflow here is heavily agent-driven (Claude Code, Codex) — you orchestrate and review as much as you type. If that excites you rather than scares you, we'll get along.- Talk to the product, not just the ticket: our users are non-technical, so plain language and ruthless simplicity beat clever abstractions.

Script, Electron, React Native/Expo, Node.js, Python, SQLite, Stripe. LLM APIs everywhere.

You- Strong TypeScript, comfortable jumping into unfamiliar codebases.- You've shipped something real — an app in a store, a product with users, a side project people paid for.- Bias for the smallest diff that works. Edge cases have to earn their code here.- Self-directed: you'll often get a problem, not a spec.

Nice to have: Electron or desktop packaging experience (codesigning/notarization scars welcome), Expo builds, LLM agent tooling.

How we work: Full time, B2B contract. Async-first on Slack, no meetings for the sake of meetings, direct line to the founder (me).
