Technical Data Curation Specialist

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Technical Data Curation Specialist for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a technology company that provides marking, tracking, and printing solutions. The foundational skill for this role is the ability to produce highly accurate, consistent annotations. However, what makes this role unique is the expectation that the candidate will be deeply involved in every step of the data lifecycle, far beyond traditional annotation work. The team is not just looking for someone to complete assigned tasks; they need a proactive individual who will help us 'curate' the datasets, who values precision and diligence. It means the perfect candidate, in addition to being a great annotator, must also have a solid understanding of Python scripting to handle tasks such as: Transforming and cleansing data (e.g., modifying JSON files); Running scripts for Quality Control (QC); Preparing data for the research teams. RequirementsStrong knowledge of Python for data wrangling and automation. A solid understanding of control structures, file I/O, and data structures.Understanding of parsing and programmatically manipulating complex, nested data formats (JSON, XML).Familiarity with essential Python libraries: Pandas, NumPy, os, ON, XML, PIL (Pillow), and cv2 (OpenCV).A strong sense of ownership and a commitment to excellence across all tasks, from foundational data annotation to complex script development.Exceptional multitasking and time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to make progress on parallel tasks.Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring data integrity during complex manipulation tasks.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Hands-on experience in data annotation is a significant plus.ResponsibilitiesAnnotate diverse data types (images, videos, text) with exceptional accuracy.Collect, curate, and prepare datasets from various sources.Develop and execute Python scripts for data verification, data transformation, cleansing, and pre-annotation/post-annotation tasks.Create and maintain meticulous documentation to track all managed datasets.Manage and prioritize tasks across multiple concurrent research projects in a highly dynamic environment.Effectively communicate project status, manage stakeholder expectations, and adapt to shifting priorities.Develop clear annotation guidelines for internal tasks and external vendors.Perform rigorous Quality Checks (QC) and provide constructive feedback to ensure data integrity.We offerUS and EU projects based on advanced technologies.Competitive compensation based on skills and experience.Flexibility in workspace, either remote or our welcoming office.Bonuses for article writing, public talks, and other activities.Free tech webinars and meetups organized by Svitla.Regular corporate online activities.Awesome team, friendly and supportive community!
