About the project
Your responsibilities
- Act as the key liaison between insurance business stakeholders (Underwriting, Claims, Policy Servicing, Distribution) and technical delivery teams, translating complex insurance processes into actionable functional and system requirements.
- Lead end‑to‑end feature definition for core insurance modules such as Policy Administration, Claims Management, Billing, Underwriting Workbenches, and Customer/Agent Portals.
- Requirement gathering, mapping and optimizing insurance workflows and business processes, including underwriting decision flows, claims journeys (FNOL to settlement), policy lifecycle processes, and bordereaux or regulatory reporting.
- Ensure that all solution designs reflect proper insurance compliance standards (e.g., Solvency II, IDD, local regulatory requirements) and support a seamless user experience for underwriters, agents, adjusters and customers.
- Use JIRA and Confluence to manage insurance product backlogs, support PI planning, document business rules, write acceptance criteria, and manage dependencies across delivery streams.
- Support data and systems integration efforts between CRM, Policy Admin Systems, Claims Platforms, Billing engines, Underwriting systems, and external data providers (raters, risk scoring engines, pricing APIs).
Our requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance domain, supporting change management, delivery of policy administration, claims, billing, or underwriting solutions.
- Deep understanding of core insurance processes: new business, underwriting (manual & automated), endorsements, renewals, cancellations, FNOL, claims adjudication, premium calculations, risk assessment, billing cycles, and broker/agent interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate insurance product rules, regulatory constraints, and underwriting guidelines into clear as is business processes by using BPMN notation.
- Strong experience in Agile environments (Scrum or SAFe), ideally within large insurance transformation programs or multi-country core system implementations.
- Experienced with working with c-suite level to understand business requirements, goals and translating into actionable plan with clear deliverable definitions.
- Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for backlog management, story writing, requirement traceability, and documentation of complex business/technical dependencies.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to work in global, distributed insurance delivery teams (German or French is a plus).
- Strong analytical mindset with proven experience in cross-functional collaboration between business, actuarial, underwriting, operations, and technical teams.
