QA/Compliance Engineer (SOC 1/Data Quality) (RFP Managed Services)

Their solutions allow advertisers of all sizes to buy, manage, and optimise digital ad campaigns directly, without intermediaries. By automating the ad sales process, the company helps publishers increase efficiency and revenue, while offering advertisers greater transparency and control. The company works with global clients such as Disney, TripAdvisor, and Bloomberg.The company is migrating its data environment from BigQuery to AWS to build a SOC 1–compliant, production-ready data platform that consolidates ~50 MySQL RDS instances into a unified, governed source of truth.Key elements of the project:Test Strategy: Develop a comprehensive data-quality framework ensuring completeness, consistency, and referential integrity across ~50 RDS sources and data pipelines.Compliance Verification: Map SOC 1 control objectives to AWS services such as CloudTrail, IAM, and backup processes, maintaining an up-to-date evidence and traceability matrix.Automation: Create lightweight data-validation scripts in Python and SQL, and integrate automated QA checks into existing CI/CD pipelines.Audit Readiness: Prepare test records, traceability matrices, and compliance deliverables for internal QA and external client reviews.Continuous Improvement: Identify and report defect patterns to DevOps and Data Engineering teams to drive proactive, long-term quality improvements.Required Skills & Experience5+ years in QA or compliance testing within data-platform or analytics projects (AWS experience preferred).Familiarity with SOC 1, SOC 2, or GxP validation frameworks.Strong SQL and Python skills for automated data quality checks and validation.Experience using AWS CloudTrail, Config, or Athena for compliance verification and audit evidence collection.Excellent documentation skills.Nice to Have:Experience in regulated data environments.Ability to explain validation of controls comprehensively, beyond just functional tests.Other details:This position is remote-friendly, BYOD, and involves close collaboration with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Compliance teams to ensure the platform meets the highest standards of data quality and regulatory readiness.
