The Preqin Research Insights team at BlackRock produces more than 75 high-impact research reports annually, delivering data-driven insights across the private markets landscape. We are seeking a Production Assistant to join our team and play a key role in the layout, formatting, and production of these reports, identifying and implementing AI tools and solutions across the workflow. This role is ideal for a technically skilled designer and self-starter also expected to contribute to our AI-enabled future—identifying where AI can improve user workflows and where it must be applied thoughtfully with transparency, controls, and measurable value.

Key responsibilities

• Design, format, and produce research reports and publications using Adobe InDesign and Illustratorandidentifyandestablishefficienciesthroughrange ofsoftware platforms
• Explore, test, and help develop AI-enhanced production workflows —including AI agents that streamline chart creation, automate formatting tasks, and support scalable report production.
• Collaboration with engineering/data/ML partners to translate user needs into AI-assisted capabilities
• Create and output a high volume of charts and tables from complex Excel anddata-richinputs,maintainingaccuracy, consistency, and accessibility across reportswithquality checks, and delivery for digital and printpublication
• Collaborate with editorial, production, and research teams to translate technical content into clean, accessible, and visually engagingcharts andlayouts
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines while upholdinghigh standardsof quality and precision.
• Familiarity with AI product patterns and risks: understanding of model limitations, evaluation approaches, and product mechanisms to improve reliability
• Contribute to the improvement of templates, workflows, and production processes, ensuring efficiency and repeatability acrossouroutput
• Support the team inmaintainingversion control, asset management, and documentation of standard operating procedures
• Provide occasionaloff-hourssupport during peak publicationperiods

Whatwe’relooking for

• At least 2-3 years of experience in a design or production role, ideally within financial servicespublishing
• Hands-on comfort using AI tools in daily work withappropriate judgmentand confidentiality
• Bachelor’sdegree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, or a related field preferred.
• Advancedproficiencyin Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign , Illustrator , andPhotoshopwith ability to pivot quickly intomore efficient alternatives
• Strong understanding of typography, layout composition, and visual hierarchy
• Experience designing long-form content such as research reports, whitepapers, or editorialpublications
• Confidence working with data-heavy content , including the ability to interpret data packs and outputaccurate,well-designedcharts and tables
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively withcross-functionalteams
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
