Operational Technology Engineer – AI & Data-Driven Production Systems

About the roleWe are looking for an Operational Technology Engineer to drive AI-enabled improvements in our production environment together with external vendors and internal teams. You will turn real shop-floor needs into well-defined AI use cases, lead vendor delivery from scoping to pilot, validate outcomes and ensure solutions are integrated into daily operations.This is a hands-on, impact-focused role, not a research position. If you like making technology work in real production conditions and can keep vendors accountable for results, you will fit well.Why this role mattersYou will be the person who connects Operations, OT/IT, and suppliers to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and decision-making.What you will doIdentify AI use cases with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and OT, define success metrics, acceptance criteria, and rollout conditionsLead collaboration with external vendors. Run workshops, align scope, timelines, responsibilities, and control delivery qualityReview vendor proposals and technical concepts, challenge assumptions, and ensure solutions match production constraints and data realityDrive data readiness: KPI definitions, data availability, quality checks, and access to required OT and IT sourcesCoordinate pilots, evaluate results vs KPIs, and make scale-up or stop recommendations based on evidenceEnsure smooth integration with the OT and IT landscape, including reporting, dashboards, and operational workflowsTrack AI and industrial automation trends and propose pragmatic next steps with clear business valueRequired skillsExperience delivering data, analytics, automation, or digitalization projects in manufacturing or industrial environmentsStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working effectively with external suppliersAbility to translate business problems into structured requirements, datasets, metrics, and test plansWorking knowledge of an analytics stack: SQL plus Power BI and/or PythonSolid understanding of AI and ML fundamentals, including practical evaluation of LLM-based solutionsGood English, written and spokenWe work 4 days from office + 1 day remote
