Legal Counsel (all genders)

As Legal Counsel (all genders), you will be part of the Consumer Affairs function within our Global Legal & Compliance Unit. In this role, you will advise on matters relating to consumer protection, competition law, AI regulation, and online safety, with a particular focus on US, EU, UK, Canadian, and Australian law. 
Through a coordinated training program, you will be enabled to provide legal support to our subsidiaries in the operation of their platforms across matchmaking, social dating, and video products. This role offers comprehensive insight into the legal challenges of a globally operating digital company. 

We are looking for a Legal Counsel (all genders) in a full-time position, starting as soon as possible. 

What you can expect

• Advising, as part of an international team of lawyers based in Germany and the US, on a broad range of legal topics with a focus on consumer protection, competition law, AI regulation, and online safety.
• Providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice to our business units, independently and in collaboration with external law firms.
• Communicating clearly and confidently with internal stakeholders across functions, translating complex legal issues into Plain English and actionable guidance.
• Actively contributing to cross-functional teamwork, including close collaboration with Product, Tech, Compliance, and Commercial teams.
• Managing projects and stakeholders across jurisdictions, keeping an overview while driving matters forward efficiently.
• Keeping a cool head and a sense of humor, even in fast-paced or hectic situations.

Minimum Qualifications and skills

• You have a legal education with very good academic results and have successfully completed a US bar exam, German Second State Exam, LL.M., or a comparable qualification.
• You have a strong affinity for digital business models and a keen interest in online-related legal topics.
• You work in a structured, precise, and diligent manner.
• You have fluent English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications and skills

• First legal experience as an (in-house) lawyer in the US, EU, UK, Canada, or Australia, ideally in the tech and/or B2C industry.
• German language skills are not required but are considered an advantage.
