Expert (Staff) Backend Engineer – Python | Cloud Security

We are looking for a highly experienced Expert (Staff) Backend Engineer to join our Cloud Security R&D team and help build the next generation of our client’s cloud security platform.This is a senior, high-impact technical role for someone who thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges at scale. You will play a key role in designing and evolving secure, resilient, and high-performance SaaS services running primarily on AWS, with integrations across Azure and GCP. Responsibilities:Design and build large-scale, distributed, cloud-native backend systems.Drive architectural decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy.Lead complex engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams.Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance microservices and APIs.Promote engineering excellence, code quality, and best practices.Mentor developers and support their technical growth.Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and R&D teams.Contribute across the full development lifecycle: design, implementation, CI/CD, and production operations. Requirements: 8+ years of hands-on experience developing and designing large-scale, distributed, cloud-based systems.Strong experience with:AWS and cloud-native architecturesMicroservices and event-driven designContainers and serverless patternsProficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python is a strong advantage).Excellent system design and analytical skills.Proven experience leading complex cross-team engineering initiatives.Strong knowledge of:Data systemsRelational databases and SQLMessaging/streaming technologiesHigh-throughput data pipelinesSolid experience with CI/CD (Jenkins preferred), DevOps practices, automated testing, and production operations.Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.Proactive, highly motivated, and goal-oriented mindset.Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Nice to have: Experience in cloud security domains.Familiarity with Azure and/or GCP.Experience influencing architecture in large SaaS environments.Observability and reliability engineering experience.
