Introduction

To strengthen our Secondary School team, we are seeking an adaptable and inspiring English Teacher for a full-time role starting in August 2026.

Berlin Metropolitan School (BMS) is the largest international school in central Berlin. More than 1,000 students from over 60 nationalities learn with us across leading international and national curriculum programmes. THE ROLE - WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Differentiate English lessons to meet diverse levels of knowledge, skills and learning styles.
• Deliver engaging, stimulating and relevant lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
• Encourage independent learning and model lifelong learning as a teacher.
• Plan, prepare, assess, monitor and report in line with school curriculum and policies.
• Use teaching, learning and assessment strategies that support individualised and differentiated learning.
• Set clear, challenging and achievable expectations to ensure all students make progress based on their prior attainment and potential.
• Maintain strong, up-to-date subject knowledge and engage with current educational research.
• Reflect on your teaching practice and pursue continuous professional development.
• Build a secure, respectful learning environment where students feel confident to participate and take risks.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment with high-quality resources and meaningful displays.
• Support the school's mission and principles as well as the IB philosophy and Learner Profile.

YOUR PROFILE - WHAT YOU BRING

• A committed, experienced and well-qualified Secondary English Teacher seeking to contribute to a high-quality teaching environment in Berlin, Germany.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Secondary Education with a recognized teaching qualification in English.
• At least three years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB School or international school setting.
• Confident in using technology to enhance and enrich student learning.
• Strong intercultural competence and enthusiasm for working in an international school community.
