Video Content Creator (Part-Time)

About the roleWe're Farluner - a small, fast-moving mobile app company behind products for iPhone and Android like ZenSwipe and Panda Video Compressor. We want someone to own our short-form video content, start to finish: come up with the idea, film it (often starring you), edit it, post it, repeat.

Some of it will be genuinely funny. Some of it needs to land a real message. We need someone who can tell the difference and switch between the two on the same afternoon.

What you'll doIdeate, script, film, and edit short-form videos on a regular schedule

• Appear on camera regularly - comfortable, natural, engaging presence required
• Take both fully-formed concepts and rough/partial ideas and turn them into finished videos
• Generate your own video ideas, not just execute on briefs
• Post content and manage the posting schedule
• Take responsibility for 'stage management' - scouting and using varied, interesting backdrops and locations rather than filming in the same corner every time
• Sometimes you'll be handed content shot by someone else and asked to just edit and post itCoordinate with other people at Farluner when a video needs input, footage, or sign-off from someone else
• What you'll needA strong grasp of what actually works on TikTok and Instagram - trends, formats, pacing
• Comfort and confidence on camera; some 'stage presence' - we'd rather hire an outgoing personality than a technically perfect editor who freezes up in front of a lens
• Editing skill for fast-paced, short-form content: hooks, cuts, pacing, captions - the stuff that stops a scroll in the first second
• Familiarity with CapCut and/or other mobile or desktop editing tools
• English at native, C1, or C2 level
• The ability to work independently between check-ins - we'll brief you and then get out of your way
• You'll need your own phone(s) to film with - we won't be providing equipment. Ideally you'd have both an iPhone and an Android phone, so you can film yourself using one while you use the otherNice to have
• Comedic timing or performance experienceA portfolio of short-form work (TikTok/Reels) you can point us toYou don't need to be a big deal already
• You don't need perfect skills, and you don't need to already be a massive influencer. This role is a great fit for someone who's already a nano-influencer and wants to grow that ability on the job. Any experience posting to your own channel is a big bonus - share it, let us see your personality - even if right now it's just your relatives and a few bots watching.

On feedback

You'll get it wrong sometimes - that's fine, that's the job. Creativity involves taking risks, which means you have a failure rate. What matters to us is that you can take it when we think you've missed the mark. If someone says 'hey, the bit with the cat with the backwards head isn't funny, it's just kind of horrible,' the right response would be 'ah, fair, lol, I'll change it' - not 'well, maybe go and make it yourself then!' We want someone who can fight their corner when they think they're right, hold up their hands when they're not, and keep a sense of perspective either way.

The vibe we're going forSmart, but funny. We want someone with enough creativity to actually make things, but enough logic and structure to deliver the message we actually need delivered - not just a fun video missing the point. Neurodivergent folks are welcome and often thrive in this kind of role - if your brain works in bursts of focused creativity, that suits this job well. Perfectionism does not, though - we'd rather have it done to 8/10 standard in one day than to 10/10 in one week.
