Staff DevOps & Platform Engineer

For our client operating in the renewable energy industry, we are looking for a Sr DevOps & Platform Engineer to work on defining, architecting, and scaling an Internal Developer Platform (IDP), enterprise GitOps workflows, and autonomous self-healing infrastructure. In this role, you will act as a technical authority across the engineering organization, focusing on eliminating developer friction, enforcing automated zero-trust security guardrails, scaling multi-cluster Kubernetes systems, and building closed-loop AI

Ops pipelines.

Location100% remote, start in October/beginning of November

Tasks- Define the technical roadmap for self-service platform engineering, zero-trust cloud security, and distributed observability across multi-cloud environments.- Measure and optimize internal developer velocity, reducing onboarding time, build bottlenecks, and time-to-first-commit across all product squads.- Establish engineering standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and telemetry; mentor senior and mid-level engineers through architecture reviews and RFCs.- Partner with Engineering leadership to establish strict SLO/SLI governance, error budget policies, and automated chaos testing across distributed services.- Design and standardize self-service developer portals and golden deployment paths, enabling product teams to provision secure, ephemeral environments independently.- Architect multi-cluster, multi-region declarative delivery models using ArgoCD or Flux CD.- Build closed-loop self-healing systems combining OpenTelemetry, topological anomaly correlation, and stateful orchestration engines.- Implement zero-trust security guardrails across the delivery lifecycle using Kyverno or Open Policy Agent (OPA).- Lead the design and scaling of inference and training infrastructure, including GPU cluster autoscaling and vector database hosting.- Architect fault-tolerant failovers, active-active multi-region traffic routing, and automated chaos engineering experiments.

Requirements- 8+ years of experience in platform and DevOps engineering.- 6+ years of enterprise-scale Kubernetes administration.- Strong programming proficiency in Go and Python.- Mastery of modular Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.- Production experience designing OpenTelemetry collector topologies.- Proven track record building deterministic, idempotent workflows with state-machine frameworks.- Demonstrated track record of authoring cross-team RFCs and establishing operational SLOs/SLIs.- Direct experience integrating LLM tool-calling, agentic triage workflows, or RAG-based runbook retrieval into incident response loops.
