Join Miquido as a Senior Golang Developer 🚀About the project
You'll join the development of a Go-based Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engine — an embeddable SDK that scans text and files for sensitive information such as personal data, financial details, government-issued IDs, health records, and credentials. It's built to run efficiently on the endpoint/agent side, rather than as a heavy backend service, and ships as a lean public SDK and API on top of a much larger internal detection pipeline covering multiple countries and regions, dozens of information types, and a wide range of file formats (PDF, Office documents, email, archives, CSV, images via OCR).
This is genuine, hands-on collaboration with the client's own engineering team — not a hand-off model. You'll work in a real, established, production-grade Go codebase, getting to understand the reasoning behind existing design decisions before proposing changes, and contributing your own perspective on trade-offs rather than simply executing tickets. The role balances independent ownership — driving a feature, detector, or performance improvement end-to-end on your own — with close collaboration through design discussions, code review, and adapting to shifting priorities as the product evolves.
Tasks
- Implement new sensitive-data detectors (regional ID formats, financial identifiers, custom info types) following the project's established Detector interface contract
- Extend file-format parsing (PDF/Office/archive/OCR) and improve the two-pass detection and n-gram matching pipeline
- Profile and optimize detector and parser performance, since the engine is designed to run on constrained endpoint/agent environments
- Write and maintain tests using the project's custom testify-based DSL, including regression guards (Negative
- Types) for false positives
- Participate in code review and standards discussions, and propose your own architectural suggestions
- Collaborate closely and asynchronously with the client's in-house developers on design, scope, and priorities
- Keep up with CI requirements (Linux/Windows compatibility, golangci-lint/gosec, real-world detection-accuracy thresholds)
Must have3+ years of professional Go experience, including idiomatic error handling, interfaces, and pointer-receiver patterns
- Strong understanding of regular expressions, string/text processing, and pattern-matching algorithms
- Experience writing thorough unit tests (table-driven or DSL-based) and comfort with TDD-style workflows
- Ability to work both independently (owning a feature end-to-end) and collaboratively with a remote client team
- Openness to changing direction based on client feedback, and confidence to propose your own technical opinions rather than just implementing instructions
- Solid Git workflow experience and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar)
Fluent English, written and spokenNice to have
- Experience with document/file parsing (PDF, Office formats, archives) or OCR pipelines
- Familiarity with data validation domains - checksums, national ID formats, IBAN/credit-card validation, data normalization
- Experience with NLP/tokenization basics (NER, n-gram matching)
Background in security-sensitive or compliance-driven software (GDPR, PII handling, DLP/security tooling)
Experience with golangci-lint, gosec, or other static analysis/security scanning in GoPrior experience contributing to a long-lived SDK/library codebase with a strict public-API boundary
