About the projectWe are looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer with strong experience in data engineering, workflow orchestration and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will be responsible for building and maintaining backend services, orchestrating data workflows and developing reliable integrations across the platform.

Important: this is not a generic Python Backend Developer role. Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer and GCP is essential.

Your responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain Apache Airflow DA
GsManage and optimize Google Cloud Composer environments
Develop Python backend services and REST AP
IsUse Pydantic for schema modelling, validation and type enforcement
Build integrations between data pipelines and backend services
Implement authentication, retries, idempotency and standardized response models
Develop reusable Airflow operators, hooks and utilities
Work with BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Pub/Sub, IAM and Cloud Functions
Implement logging, monitoring, alerting and automated testing
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Platform and Product teamsMust-have experienceWe are looking for someone who has:

Strong senior-level Python backend development experience

Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Composer
Strong practical experience with GCP and data platforms
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and integrations
Hands-on experience with Pydantic
Good knowledge of Airflow concepts, including DAGs, operators, sensors, hooks and XComs
Experience with BigQuery, GCS, Pub/Sub, IAM and Cloud Functions
Experience with OAuth2, JWT and API-key authentication
Good SQL skills
Experience with Git and CI/CD
Experience working with Docker
Ability to work independently in a senior engineering role
Good communication skills in English

Strong production troubleshooting and observability experience
Experience working in complex data platforms or large-scale distributed environments
