Software Engineer (JavaScipt)

BEM Automotive develops technology solutions for the automotive industry — from vehicle communication and diagnostics to mobile and web applications, as well as systems that process vehicle data.

We build software that goes beyond the screen. Our code communicates with real cars, diagnostic devices, and systems used by drivers, workshops, and business partners.

We are looking for a Mid Software Developer who can independently deliver solutions and wants to work on products that combine software with automotive technology.

LiteWe do not expect you to know all of them. However, you must have very advanced knowledge of at least one of these languages.

What you will do:

Design and develop features for our products.

Work on mobile applications, backend systems, and solutions that communicate with vehicles.

Integrate software with diagnostic devices, APIs, and systems that process automotive data.

Solve technical problems related to communication, diagnostics, and data flow.

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

Keep an overview over AI generated code, and review it.

Manage multiple agents and catch their hallucinations.

Take part in code reviews and technical decision-making.

Test solutions not only in development environments, but also with real devices and vehicles.

Work with Docker and contribute to the development of our DevOps processes.

Have a real impact on how our products and technologies evolve.

Requirements:

Very advanced knowledge of at least one of the following languages: C++, C#, Swift, Kotlin, or JavaScript.

You have very good experience in Agentic Coding, you are using Claude Code, Codex or similar.

Experience independently building and developing software.

Ability to analyze and debug complex problems.

Good understanding of software design principles and Git workflows.

Ability to produce code that can be easily maintained and developed by others.

Independence and a problem-solving mindset.

English skills sufficient to work comfortably with technical documentation.

Nice to have:

Genuine interest in cars and automotive technology.

Knowledge of more than one language from our technology stack.

Experience with Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps.

Experience with mobile application development.

Experience with device communication, hardware, or vehicle-related systems.

Knowledge of OBD-II, CAN, or automotive diagnostics.
