As a team member, you will be a part of an international team among strategists, engineers and designers.

Tasks

• Lead applied research and PoC development for computer‑vision and deep‑learning solutions.
• Design and evaluate AI pipelines, including validation protocols and robustness testing.
• Drive ML models end‑to‑end, from data preparation and model training to evaluation and deployment planning.
• Adapt state‑of‑the‑art methods to real‑world use cases with limited and sensitive health data.
• Define model evaluation strategies and translate results into actionable product decisions.
• Plan deployment pathways, including feasibility for edge deployments.
• Collaborate with product owners/managers and software, electrical, and mechanical engineers to align AI capabilities with product and hardware constraints.

Profile

You are

…...a senior machine learning engineer who brings passion, strong skills and experiences to shape innovative and successful product portfolios of tomorrow. In addition, you should have a strong interest in working on innovation projects with interdisciplinary teams and agile methods, together with our internal and external partners.

• Experience: 5+ years in applied machine learning / computer vision.
• Education: MSc or PhD in a quantitative field, (e.g., CS, EE, Applied Math, Biomedical Engineering).
• Strong background in computer vision and deep learning.
• Proven ability to build reliable models with limited datasets.
• Solid grounding in evaluation methodology (validation protocols, bias/robustness checks).
• Experience driving ML models end-to-end in a product context.
• Experience with AI Algorithms deployment on embedded and mobile platforms.
• Strong hands-on software engineering capability with proven experience building complete end-to-end software prototypes or applications that integrate AI models into functional systems.
• Fluent language skills in written and spoken English (German will be a plus).
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• A residence and work permit for Germany.

Tech Stacks & Tools

• ML frameworks: PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Computer vision: object detection and classification pipelines (YOLO‑style models are a plus but not required).
• Experiment tracking / MLOps: experience with MLflow or similar framework.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with CoreML, TensorFlow Lite or other mobile platform frameworks.

A-Plus-to-Have**:

• Experience with medical / health‑related AI applications.
• Experience with uncertainty estimation or model calibration.
• Familiarity with data augmentation strategies for small datasets.
• Hands-on experience with MobileNet, ResNet or other neural network architectures.
• Experience developing AI solutions using data from various sensors, such as depth sensor or mmWave radar.
