Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m)

Senior DevOps Engineer – Kong API GatewayWe are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join an international team developing a modern API Management platform. The project involves building and maintaining Kong Gateway environments as a central component for API management, supported by automated infrastructure based on AWS and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain infrastructure for Kong Gateway.

Provision AWS environments, particularly Amazon EKS clusters, using Terraform.

Manage Kubernetes environments and Docker-based application containerisation.

Automate administrative and operational processes using Ansible.

Build and develop CI/CD pipelines for API deployments, infrastructure and configuration changes.

Implement and enhance monitoring and observability solutions.

Migrate existing environments and infrastructure to the new platform.

Collaborate with development and architecture teams to implement new services.

Support the development of a new API Catalogue portal.

Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of AWS and hands-on experience with Amazon EKS.

Practical experience designing, building and maintaining Kubernetes platforms.

Strong hands-on experience with Docker.

Advanced Terraform expertise, including module development, state management and multi-environment infrastructure.

Practical experience with Ansible.

Experience designing and developing CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with API Gateway solutions, ideally Kong Gateway.

Alternatively, experience with Apache APISIX, Tyk, KrakenD, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management or Google Cloud Apigee.

Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Victoria

Metrics, Splunk or similar.

Understanding of API routing, OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, rate limiting and API management.

Strong production troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international environment.

Nice to Have

Experience migrating infrastructure or API platforms.

Good understanding of microservices architecture.

Experience building enterprise-grade API Management platforms.

Knowledge of security practices, secrets management and container image scanning.

Experience working in a SAFe environment.

Working Conditions

Hybrid model: two days per week from the office.
