Sr DevOps Migration Engineer

For our client operating in the energy industry, we are looking for a Sr DevOps Migration Engineer to work on supporting migration tooling and tasks according to the target architecture and migration strategy. The role involves working on AWS platform services, ensuring performance and reliability, and supporting incident management and resolution.

Work Mode: Hybrid – 2 days in the Warsaw officeJob Responsibilities

Support migration tooling and tasks according to the target architecture and migration strategy.

Execute Lift & Shift migrations, including evaluating open-source opportunities and using native tools.

Support re-architecture migrations, including containerization with Amazon EKS.

Analyze, convert, and migrate databases using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).

Design data transfer solutions using AWS DataSync, Storage Gateway, and Amazon S3.

Provide day-to-day operational support for AWS platform services and core products.

Monitor and troubleshoot AWS services, ensuring performance and reliability.

Set up infrastructure as code and application pipelines integrating Terraform and GitHub.

Assist with platform maintenance, upgrades, and optimization activities.

Provide training related to AWS platforms and services, such as AWS CloudFormation and Systems Manager.

Create documentation: onboarding guides, FAQs, and procedures.

Help application teams define KPIs, set up monitoring with Amazon CloudWatch, alarms, and alerts.

Assist with firewall configurations and AWS Network Firewall policies.

Expectations

Understand security best practices in CI/CD and cloud environments.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Have strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Have experience participating in large-scale cloud migration projects based on the 6 Rs (AWS preferred).

Have a solid understanding of AWS technical domains, ideally with hands-on experience in AWS AFT, CloudFormation, Terraform, GitHub/GitOps, AWS Systems Manager (SSM), Ansible, IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, NIST cloud security standards, AWS policy management (SCP), AWS FinOps tools (Cost Explorer, CUR, Glue), and Amazon CloudWatch.

Be experienced with Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration in Amazon EKS or general Kubernetes.

Understand monitoring and observability best practices using CloudWatch and AWS Config.

Have proven experience with AWS services and CI/CD pipeline development.

Have strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Terraform, GitHub, and AWS Developer Tools.
