Contract: B2B/freelanceJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to develop Java, Diagnostics, and OTA offboard software. This role involves focusing on vehicle diagnostics and Over-the-Air (OTA) updating mechanisms. We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to build backend infrastructure supporting offboard automotive solutions. Key responsibilities include managing telemetry data, remote diagnostics, and cloud-to-vehicle Over-the-Air (OTA) deployment pipelines.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable backend services and API architectures using Java/Spring.
• Implement offboard diagnostics systems to process vehicle telemetry data.
• Manage cloud infrastructure for secure, reliable offboard Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
• Utilize CA
• Noe environments to test backend API interactions with simulated vehicle endpoints.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years in backend software engineering (automotive domain)
• Core Java Development: Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, RESTful API Design and Development, Microservices Architecture, Maven / Gradle, JUnit, Integration Testing, Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Design Patterns
• Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Containerization (Docker)
• Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• API Gateway and Service Security
• SQL Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
• NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Telemetry Data Processing
• OTA Software Update Architecture
• Software/Firmware Deployment Pipelines, Secure Update Mechanisms, Package Management and Versioning
• Additional Skills:
• Familiarity with Vector CA
• Noe or similar simulation tools to trace backend data packets down to the vehicle network layer
• Professional fluency in both English and Italian is a strong plus to help our international teams and local stakeholders work together smoothly.
