Assembly Engineer / Process Engineer

Requirements

• Educated in an engineering subject to degree level.
• 5+ years’ experience of work in process engineering (manual and automated).
• Proven ability to develop new assembly processes and to transfer the processes to manufacturing.
• Able to conceptualize assembly and automation methods and to understand interactions between components, processes and product performance.
• Proven experience with the optimising production process and balancing production line.
• Experience with report creation (BI tools; VBA and PowerQuery or MiniTab).
• Experience of 6 Sigma and LEAN manufacturing methodologies.
• Practise knowledge with SPC, FMEA, VSM, MES.
• Knowledge of quality tools (Ishikawa, 5W2H, 5Why, Pareto diagram).
• Very good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Development and transfer to manufacturing of automated/manual assembly equipment to provide improved capacity, quality, yields and cost.
• Hands-on technical support assembly and processes at manufacturing locations.
• Balance production line, improve process by increasing quality and reduce cycle times.
• Performing assessment of new equipment and processes.
• Project management support for new processes and equipment introduction.
• Interpretation of test results and, if necessary, their improvement in collaboration with the team developing the software or responsible for the specific test design.
• The position involves work across 2 manufacturing plants.
