Backend Developer (Java & C++)

We are looking for a Backend Developer (Java & C++) to one of our clients within Banking & Finance. Start date: 2026-10-01End date: 2027-03-30Location: Helsinki, Finland (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

About the assignment:

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with a strong background in C++ and Java FX to contribute to automated credit decisioning solutions. You will join a team responsible for building automated credit decisioning solutions across multiple business lines. The role involves full-stack development lifecycle ownership, from integration work through testing and deployment. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver robust, well-documented solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

The Backend Developer will engage in vital application development duties.

Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of application development

Work on integrations utilizing middle-tier frameworks.

Perform manual and automated testing

Regularly review code, implement improvements, and refactor as necessary.

Maintain technical documentation.

Exhibit strong communication skills and cooperate with business to clarify expectations

Profile & Qualifications:6+ years of experience as a backend developer.

Proficient in C++, Springboot, Microservices, and Java.

Familiarity with Maven, Bamboo, Jenkins, GIT, and Jira.

Knowledge of Clean Code principles.

Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

Required Skills:

• C++

• Maven, Jenkins, Git, JiraNice to have: Experience with automation frameworks: Selenium and Cucumber.

Knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VB, and ASP.

Familiarity with Kubernetes container deployment.

Proficiency in Finnish, as some code is in Finnish.

Prior experience in the financial services industry.

Experience with AI for developing business solutions.
