Senior Satellite Operations engineer

Responsibilities:

Coordinate development of operations procedures: coding and validationKey actor for testing the operational system during pre-launch phase: System Validation Tests with satellite or simulator; ground segment validation testsLead satellite operations activities including mission-level validation, writing SSUM and definition of housekeeping telemetries.

Define and review nominal and contingencies operations procedures

• Coordinate operations on in-orbit satellites by acting as flight director in the control center
• Respond to satellite anomalies by escalating issue and once approved run contingency procedures
• Review embedded SW definition and equipment TMTC ICD for satellite operations
• Define Concept of Operations, Mission Operations plan, Operations Engineering and for this interface with customer
• Prepare satellite operations training materials and present the training
• Qualifications:

Experience of working in a control center (space or other industry) or experience in satellite activities (operations or validation): 5 to 8 years.

Fundamental technical understanding in the following domains: avionics, electrical engineering, electronics, thermal control, software): more than 3 domains.

Experience of avionics validation tests

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Very good English in speaking and writing.

Be willing to work in shifts, especially during satellite LEOP

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in satellite operations

• Capability to investigate on avionics anomalies and identify root cause
• Experience in failure management in aerospace systems
• Knowledge of Python or experience with scripting languages
• Training in orbit mechanics and/or flight dynamics
• Experience in Launch and Early Operations phase
• Experience in control center or ground segment
• Knowledge of configuration management
