On behalf of a client in the Energy industry, we are looking for a Senior Network & Security Specialist to support the separation of Cisco network infrastructure and Palo Alto firewalls from centrally managed services.

Main Responsibilities

Transition Cisco switches and routers to standalone operation, including local administrator accounts and removal of TACACS authentication
Review and remove dependencies on Cisco ISE, ACLs, logging, SNMP, NTP and other centrally managed services where required
Transition Palo Alto firewalls to local administration, including removal of Active Directory integrations and disconnection from Panorama
Plan and execute changes with appropriate backups, rollback and recovery procedures
Validate network connectivity, firewall policies, management access, logging and monitoring after separation
Assess Cisco and Palo Alto licensing, subscriptions, support entitlements and potential licence-transfer requirements
Document configurations, implemented changes and final operating proceduresKey Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching
Practical experience with AAA, TACACS+, ACLs, syslog, SNMP and NTP
Experience with Cisco ISE and safely removing network devices from ISE
Strong hands-on Palo Alto firewall administration experience
Experience with Panorama and transitioning firewalls away from centralised management
Strong understanding of network security and infrastructure dependencies
Experience with change planning, rollback procedures, validation and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Cisco and Palo Alto licensing and support models
Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP and PCNSA/PCNSE are an advantage
