Position overviewWe are looking for a PR Specialist to grow DataArt's visibility in business, technology and industry media. You will pitch stories to journalists, manage media requests, place executive thought leadership, and support award submissions and podcast appearances. You will work closely with company leaders and practice heads to turn their expertise into coverage that supports DataArt's business goals. We need someone who understands how to use AI tools responsibly but does not fully rely on them to generate content.
As journalists and media outlets become increasingly cautious about AI-generated material, this person must bring original thinking, sound editorial judgment and a natural writing style that helps humanize DataArt and its experts.
Responsibilities:
Pitch stories and expert commentary to business, technology, and industry media
- Monitor and respond to inbound media requests, matching journalists with the right DataArt experts
- Monitor editorial trends and competitor coverage to identify potential opportunities
- Create and maintain up-to-date media lists
- Research relevant journalists, publications, podcasts, awards, and speaking opportunities
- Draft and place op-eds, bylined articles, and contributed content in outlets
- Interview executives and subject matter experts to develop story angles and quotes
- Write and edit press releases, pitches, briefing documents, and talking points
- Secure and coordinate podcast appearances and speaking opportunities for DataArt experts
- Research and manage award submissions and industry recognitions
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and podcast hostsBuild relationships with internal stakeholders, including practice heads and executives, to identify newsworthy topics
- Track and report PR results, including placements, reach, and share of voice
- Ensure all external communications align with DataArt's brand voice and messaging
- Work in Jira or similar tools to manage tasks and deadlines
- Escalate risks, delays, or blockers affecting delivery
- Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in PR, communications, or media relations
- Near native English proficiency in both written and spoken communication
- Experience in B2B communications, preferably within IT services or technology
- Strong writing skills across formats, from pitches to long-form articles
- Proven record of securing media placements or contributed content
- Confidence working directly with executives and senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across time zones
- Experience working in Jira or similar task management systems
- Nice to have:
Existing relationships with business or technology journalists
- Experience with media monitoring tools such as Muck Rack or Cision
- Experience with analyst relations or contributor programs such as Forbes Councils
- Familiarity with podcast booking and preparation processes
