Middle QA Engineer

Middle QA EngineerWe’re hiring a QA Engineer for a company that operates a SaaS platform that lets brands create and administer digital identity records for their physical goods.

The product ingests existing product data from brand clients and makes it consumable at scale.

Requirements:

Strong, practical command of software QA with 3+ years of experience across both manual and automated testing in production web environments

• Comfort working in a high-release-velocity environment with daily feature drops that need rapid, thorough manual validation before they reach users
• Proven experience designing and implementing a full testing strategy from scratch, including test planning, risk analysis, coverage mapping, and tooling selection
• Deep hands-on expertise with Playwright for end-to-end automation, including page object models, fixtures, parallel execution, and CI integration
• Previous work in B2B SaaSExperience working in house at a product company, holding quality ownership for a single product as it evolved over time
• Strategies for reducing test flakiness, Page Object Model design, fixture management, and handling test dataSolid experience testing REST APIs directly
• Ability to assess an existing QA setup, spot weak points, and construct a prioritized improvement plan
• Experience testing in cloud-native or containerized environments; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes basics, or microservices architecture
• Nice to have:

Working familiarity with Python

Experience embedding automated tests into CI/CD workflows (Bitbucket Pipelines or GitHub Actions)

Exposure to visual regression testing (Percy, Playwright screenshots)

Exposure to performance or load testing

Responsibilities:

Own QA end-to-end for the product, with no manager or predefined process to follow

• Build, maintain, and scale Playwright-based automated test suites
• Apply sound POM architecture and fixture design to keep test suites reliable
• Test REST APIs directly, including response shape and schema validation
• Evaluate the current QA setup and identify gaps
• Perform exploratory testing to surface issues automation does not catch
• Work directly alongside a small engineering team to define and evolve the QA approach
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines as neededUse AI-assisted tools as part of the daily testing workflow
