The role
The Legal Counsel (Recoveries) plays a vital role supporting our Recovery & Customer Care team. This role provides legal expertise and support to drive effective recovery outcomes on delinquent or defaulted accounts, engaging directly with customers, external legal counsel and courts, and managing recovery cases from early-stage negotiation through to formal legal action where required.
What you'll doManage a portfolio of recovery cases, from early-stage contact through to formal legal proceedings where necessary.
Handle inbound and outbound communications with customers, including phone calls and emails, balancing firmness with professionalism.
Assess accounts and determine appropriate recovery strategies in line with internal policy and legal requirements.
Liaise with external legal counsel, debt collection agencies, and courts as required across relevant jurisdictions.
Draft, review, and issue legal correspondence, demand letters, and related documentation.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve recovery-related issues.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive customer and case information.
Support the business with credit-related legal activities and tasks as required.
Represent the company professionally in all interactions, protecting its reputation while pursuing recovery outcomes.
What you bring
Qualified lawyer with relevant experience in debt recovery, litigation, or commercial law.
Strong understanding of European recovery, insolvency, and enforcement processes.
Strong verbal and written communication, including handling difficult customer interactions and negotiations.
Thorough and accurate in case management, ensuring all details and documentation are properly managed.
Ability to address and resolve complex issues independently, exercising sound legal judgment.
Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
Competence in using office software, case management systems, and legal tools.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal teams, customers, and external legal counsel.
Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
Fluency in Polish and English (essential).
