AWS Cloud Architect / Technical Lead

We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect / Technical Lead to join an international team developing a business-critical cloud platform.

The platform integrates external systems and data sources with cloud-based applications and is currently entering an important phase of its development. With upcoming releases and architectural changes, the team is looking for someone who can bring strong AWS expertise, take ownership of the cloud architecture and drive technical and design discussions.

This is a hands-on architecture role. We are not looking for someone who only creates high-level designs – you will work closely with engineers, stay involved in implementation and deployments, and help the team make pragmatic technical decisions.

The key challenge is currently not simply delivering new functionality, but strengthening the architecture, organizing technical knowledge and building stronger cloud capabilities within the team.

What you'll be doing

• Taking ownership of the AWS cloud architecture and its further evolution
• Driving architecture and design discussions with engineering teams and client-side stakeholders
• Designing scalable, maintainable and reliable serverless solutions on AWS
• Working hands-on with AWS Lambda and other AWS services
• Supporting engineers with architectural and technical decisions
• Contributing to development of backend services, currently primarily in Type
• Script
• Supporting infrastructure, deployments, CI/CD and release processes
• Reviewing existing solutions and identifying opportunities for architectural improvements
• Mentoring engineers and actively supporting knowledge transfer
• Establishing good engineering and cloud architecture practices within the team
• Supporting upcoming releases and further evolution of the platform
• The environment is primarily based on AWS Serverless and the current backend is developed mainly in TypeScript. Selected components may be developed or migrated to Rust in the future.

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience in AWS cloud architecture
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of AWS and serverless architectures
• Strong experience with AWS Lambda
• Ability to independently drive architecture and design discussions
• Experience making architectural decisions and clearly explaining technical trade-offs
• Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven systems
• Experience with services such as Kinesis, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, API Gateway or Step Functions
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code – AWS CDK, Terraform or Cloud
• Formation
• Good understanding of CI/CD, deployments and cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on software engineering background, ideally with TypeScript / Node.jsExperience with technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Very good English and confidence working directly with international stakeholders
• Nice to have: experience with or interest in Rust, AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect)
