The SAP S/4HANA Quality Management Functional Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing and continuously improving SAP QM processes within the AMS operating model.

The role focuses on translating business needs into functional solutions, resolving functional issues, supporting change requests and ensuring stable integration of SAP QM with other manufacturing and logistics processes.

The role works closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Service Owners, developers, external vendors and cross-functional SAP teams to ensure that SAP QM solutions are reliable, compliant, scalable and aligned with the global template.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain functional specifications for SAP QM processes and enhancements in S/4HANA.

Translate quality management business requirements into SAP QM functional designs, user stories and IT solutions.

Support core SAP QM processes, including inspection planning, inspection lot processing, results recording, defect recording, usage decision and quality notifications.

Analyze and resolve SAP QM incidents, service requests and functional issues in line with AMS governance processes.

Support SAP QM integration with related areas such as MM, PP, EWM, MES/SAP DM, batch management and production execution.

Collaborate with ABAP developers and integration teams to design, validate and deliver enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms and workflow-related changes.

Conduct User Acceptance Testing, regression testing and solution validation together with business users.

Support change requests from impact analysis through design, build, test and deployment.

Maintain up-to-date functional documentation, process descriptions, configuration rationale and support knowledge articles.

Provide guidance and training to business users and key users on new or changed SAP QM functionalities.

Act as a trusted advisor for Product Owners, Service Owners and business stakeholders in the SAP QM functional domain.

Identify improvement opportunities in SAP QM processes, system usage, support quality and application lifecycle management.

Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, performance and timely delivery of SAP QM-related changes and support activities.

Work in cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end process consistency across Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics and Supply Chain.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems or a related field.

Strong functional experience with SAP QM, preferably in SAP S/4HANA.

Good understanding of SAP QM master data and transactional processes, including inspection plans, inspection characteristics, inspection lots, results recording, usage decision and quality notifications.

Experience with SAP QM integration with at least one of the following areas: MM, PP, EWM, MES, SAP DM, batch management or production execution.

Experience in AMS, application support, incident management, change request delivery or application lifecycle management.

Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions.

Ability to analyze functional issues, identify root causes and propose sustainable solutions.

Experience working with developers, integration teams and external vendors.

Experience with UAT, regression testing and deployment support.

Good stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment.

Experience working in Agile environments, such as Scrum or similar delivery models.

Fluent English, spoken and written.

Nice to Have

Experience with SAP Fiori applications for Quality Management.

Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA migration, template rollout or global process harmonization.

Experience with SAP DM, SAP ME/MII or other MES solutions integrated with SAP QM.

Understanding of manufacturing quality processes, including supplier quality, in-process quality, final inspection, nonconformance handling and corrective actions.

Experience with quality-related reporting, analytics or KPI monitoring.

Certification in SAP QM, S/4HANA or Agile methodologies.

Experience with ITIL, AMS governance or application lifecycle processes.
