📊💸 Engagement Manager – Pricing Strategy 💸📊

About us

We are Valueships, a consulting firm helping technology companies grow top-line revenue and profitability through pricing, packaging and monetization. We believe most companies have at least 10% of unleveraged margin potential, and we help them unlock it. Our clients are AI companies, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and subscription (XaaS) businesses, and custom software development firms.

We think of ourselves as pricing and commercial engineers, not a traditional advisory firm. We are building a consultancy that combines experienced people, broad business knowledge and deep pricing expertise with the full potential of AI. For us, pricing is no longer a project – it's a process: a system that is designed, tested, launched and improved over time.

That's why we borrow openly from how software teams work. We reason from first principles instead of copying templates. We ship a first version early and iterate. We version and review our work, automate what can be automated, and build reusable tools rather than one-off slide decks. AI tools, agents and automation are part of our everyday delivery, not a side experiment.

We are an alternative to slow, process-heavy consulting. We focus on decisions clients can act on, implementation and measurable business results.

AI is central to how we work. We are looking for leaders who are excited about it, eager to experiment and ready to help their teams get the most out of it.

Why choose Valueships?

  • Lead at the forefront of AI in consulting. We actively explore new capabilities and move quickly to bring useful tools, agents and automation into our processes and daily work. We commit a substantial budget to AI tools and to our team members' development in this area.
<!--THE END-->
  • Help define how an AI-native consultancy delivers. As an Engagement Manager, you won't just run projects. You will shape the workflows we build, the tools we adopt and the quality standards we hold ourselves to.
<!--THE END-->
  • Build a new consulting company and become a Partner one day. If you want to co-create a firm rather than climb an existing ladder, this is the place for you.
<!--THE END-->
  • Think against the grain. If you've ever felt at odds with the prevailing business narrative, you might like it here.
<!--THE END-->
  • Do meaningful work for innovative companies. Support the growth of technology companies through pricing transformation and see your recommendations show up in their numbers.
<!--THE END-->
  • Build a rare combination of expertise. Develop top-notch consulting skills, unique expertise in tech pricing and hands-on experience in human–AI collaboration, a mix few people in the market can offer.
<!--THE END-->
  • Excel without burning out. We prioritize excellence in our work without overwhelming our consultants. We offer remote work, purposeful travel and respect for your personal and family time, in a highly collaborative and friendly community.

Key responsibilities

As an Engagement Manager, you will lead pricing and monetization projects for 3–4 clients at the same time. Your contributions will include:

  • Workstream coordination: Leading a team of 3–4 consultants who work alongside AI tools and agents. Coordinating tasks, planning work in short iterations and applying project management skills to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
<!--THE END-->
  • AI-native delivery: Designing and improving workflows that combine AI capabilities with human expertise. Deciding where AI speeds the work up and where judgment, verification or a client conversation is needed. Reviewing AI-assisted outputs, coaching your team to do the same, and turning what works into reusable tools, agents and methods for the whole company.
<!--THE END-->
  • Insightful analysis: Designing, executing and presenting analyses that reveal critical insights and support recommendations on pricing, value creation and strategic approaches. Keeping analyses transparent, versioned and easy for others to review and build on.
<!--THE END-->
  • Client relationship management: Ensuring client alignment and satisfaction by owning daily interactions, data presentations and collaborative work. Working with the team on well-crafted presentations that articulate insights, strategic recommendations and a strong case for change to executive stakeholders.
<!--THE END-->
  • Impact & risk modeling: Collaborating with the data team to develop models that project the impact of recommendations and assess potential risks, so client decisions are robust and data-informed.
<!--THE END-->
  • Thought leadership contribution: Actively contributing to high-quality content on monetization, pricing and AI-enabled consulting, such as practice documents, whitepapers, articles, webinars and presentations, strengthening Valueships' position in the market.
<!--THE END-->
  • Brand advocacy: Championing the power and impact of strategic pricing and promoting the value our projects add, to strengthen Valueships' brand reputation.

This role lets you use your strategic skills, work closely with senior executives and drive impactful pricing decisions for our clients, while helping shape how a modern, AI-native consultancy works.

Qualities we seek

We are searching for analytically curious problem solvers and client leaders who are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to acquire new skills. Beyond the typical skill set expected of consultants, we are interested in people with genuine creative flair and a builder's mindset. You may have a background in science or business, but at heart you are part artist, part engineer.

You see AI as a way to expand what you and your team can achieve, not as a threat or a passing trend. You enjoy trying new tools, you share what you learn, and you would rather build a better way of working than repeat the old one.

Requirements

Your approach to AI and new technology

  • Openness to AI and a positive attitude toward it: You see AI as a way to raise the quality, speed and value of your own and your team's work. You follow what is changing and look forward to where it is heading.
<!--THE END-->
  • Eagerness to experiment and learn: You like testing new tools and approaches, sharing what worked and what didn't, and changing your mind when the evidence calls for it. You don't need to be an AI expert today, but you want to become a strong practitioner and help your team do the same.
<!--THE END-->
  • A software developer's first principles: You want to work closer to the way software teams build things: breaking problems into components, reasoning from first principles, shipping a first version and iterating, versioning and reviewing work, automating repetitive steps and building reusable solutions. You want to bring the same discipline to developing pricing concepts and solutions for business.

Experience and skills

  • 2–5 years of relevant consulting / project management experience would be great.
<!--THE END-->
  • Creative problem-solving: Ability to deconstruct complex problems into clear, actionable components and apply structured frameworks (e.g., MECE, Pyramid Principle) to reach effective solutions.
<!--THE END-->
  • Analytical rigor: Skilled in designing and executing analyses that address specific questions, with the capacity to generate insights that inform strategic recommendations.
<!--THE END-->
  • Effective communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver insights persuasively, including creating impactful PowerPoint presentations and conveying ideas clearly in client settings.
<!--THE END-->
  • Quick thinking & agility: Ability to adapt and solve problems dynamically, both within the team and with clients, to address evolving project needs.
<!--THE END-->
  • Broad business acumen: Understanding of business fundamentals beyond pricing, with awareness of how pricing strategies intersect with other business areas.
<!--THE END-->
  • Enthusiasm for pricing and monetization is essential; direct professional experience or training in pricing is an asset.
<!--THE END-->
  • Extreme ownership: You own your job, your responsibilities and, most importantly, the client's best interest.
<!--THE END-->
  • Client & impact orientation: If you can't quantify the impact, it's probably not the right approach.
<!--THE END-->
  • Experience working with clients or organizations characterized by highly technology-driven processes.
<!--THE END-->
  • A great team player eager to share knowledge. If you're the kind of individualist who wants to grab all the credit and operates like a lone wolf, you won't be a good fit for our team. At Valueships, we need people who understand the added value of teamwork.
<!--THE END-->
  • Enthusiasm, proactivity, curiosity and self-motivation.
<!--THE END-->
  • Ability to travel when there is a specific purpose; we usually work remotely.
<!--THE END-->
  • Fluent Polish and very good English (B2 is the absolute minimum).
<!--THE END-->
  • Technical proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

What do we offer?

  • Salary based on experience, consisting of a base salary and performance-based bonuses for expanding project scopes: UoP / B2B 13 000–30 000 PLN.
<!--THE END-->
  • Potential to become a Partner at Valueships and own part of our company.
<!--THE END-->
  • Serious investment in AI and your development. We actively take part in the AI revolution: using AI tools, agents and work automation isn't just welcome – it's how we work, and we commit a substantial budget to it. If you are interested in a course or postgraduate studies, Valueships will support you financially.
<!--THE END-->
  • Remote-first work. We organize office days at our headquarters in Wrocław and our office space in Warsaw; you decide what works better for you.
<!--THE END-->
  • Industry conferences. Opportunities to attend and give talks at events suited to your interests.
<!--THE END-->
  • 2–3 days of on-site onboarding to introduce you to the company and give you a chance to get to know us better (costs covered by us).
<!--THE END-->
  • Partners and the Leadership Team are always available for problem-solving sessions (unlike in many other consulting firms).
<!--THE END-->
  • A truly flexible working schedule. If you need to start earlier, finish later or take a nap during the day, just do it.
<!--THE END-->
  • Team off-sites twice a year to slow down a bit and feel part of the entire company.

Ready to join?

If you're ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role, lead client work and help shape how an AI-native consultancy delivers pricing work, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and help us continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in pricing and project delivery.

You don't need to have every AI skill figured out yet. Openness to AI, a willingness to experiment and the drive to keep learning are essential.

Recruitment process

  • Screening call. We'll discuss your experience leading client projects and teams, your motivation and concrete examples of how you use AI in your own and your team's work. You can ask any questions about the role and Valueships.
<!--THE END-->
  • Practical recruitment task. You'll receive a dataset and a business problem similar to the ones we solve for our clients, with the deadline stated in our email. AI use is expected. Show your approach, what you checked and verified, and where you relied on your own judgment, just as you would when reviewing your team's work. Present your recommendations in a short video of up to 5 minutes.
<!--THE END-->
  • Case and workflow discussion. Walk us through your reasoning and defend your conclusions as we challenge them. We'll add a new question or constraint and see how you adapt. We assess how you think, evaluate evidence and improve an answer, and how you would organize the work of a team combining consultants and AI.
<!--THE END-->
  • Final conversation. Meet members of our Leadership Team, including our Partners, and explore whether working together is a good fit for both sides, and discuss how you would lead engagements and grow with us toward a Partner role.

We understand the importance of your application and make sure all CVs are carefully reviewed. We'll reach out to selected candidates promptly after the review. If you're based in Wrocław or Warsaw, we'd be delighted to meet you in person during the recruitment process at one of our offices.
