Our requirements

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with the JVM (Java & Kotlin)
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Cloud for building distributed microservices
• Proven experience in FinTech/Payments
• Understanding the lifecycle of a payment (Authorization, Capture, Refund, Chargeback)
• Experience integrating external PSPs (Payment Service Provider)
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL (specifically AWS Aurora)
• Experience with asynchronous messaging using RabbitMQ (CloudAMQP)
• Comfortable working within containerized environments using Kubernetes (AWS EKS)
• Experience with GitHub Spec-Kit

Optional

• Specific prior experience integrating Worldpay or Payrix APIs
• Experience with Australian payment schemes (BECS)

Your responsibilities

• Design and develop integrations with payment service providers Worldpay/Payrix using Java or Kotlin
• Take ownership of mapping internal unified API to external payment systems by applying the Adapter design pattern
• Build and test complete payment flows for BECS Direct Debit and credit card methods covering tokenization, payment processing, refund management, chargeback, and dispute handling
• Adapt quickly to the current PSP-Integration architecture
• Ensure all solutions are scalable, testable, and consistent with the established Spring Boot/Cloud microservices environment
• Maintain clear and comprehensive integration documentation using the GitHub Spec-Kit framework
• Work closely within a small, agile team
• Participate in daily remote check-ins and coordination via Slack and Google Meet
