European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. For our Soft X-Ray Port group, we are looking for a

Student Assistant for GUI Development (f/m/d)

The Position

The goal of this project is to develop a GUI to display time resolved photoelectron spectroscopy data measured at the SXP instrument. The scope of the project includes:

• Development of a GUI to display data preprocessed with an existing library (toolbox-SXP)
• Adapt algorithms and analysis procedures to the GUI
• Collaborate in implementing visualisation tools based on EuXFEL data analysis tools

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field
• Good knowledge of Python, especially PyQt
• Highly motivated to work in an international team
• Really good knowledge of the English language
• Enrolled Student

The following are considered as assets:

• Experience with Git or a similar version control system
• Experience with software testing and continuous integration
