Your responsibilities: Proactive team member of an agile team focused on delivering business value with an agile mindset Design, develop, maintain and deploy informatics products (incl. backend, infrastructure as code, pipeline as code) Troubleshoot and bug fix reported issues with the system Keep the code libraries and based technology up to date Create and maintain documentation for the application Cooperate with Product Owner and business users in PST time zone (CET evening meetings, 2-3 a week) We are looking for you, if you have: 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development Strong skills in Java (JDK 17+), Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch and REST/OpenAPI Practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, and micro/modular services Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD A strong grasp of testing strategies, including clean code practices, and daily code reviews Exposure to event-driven architecture using Kafka A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to independently deliver and take full responsibility for features end-to-end — from technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, to maintenance Fluent English communication skills, comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders based in San Francisco Availability to attend one/two regular sync meetings per week with the US (around 5 PM).
