We're hiring a C++ Software Engineer to build automation and AI-powered capabilities around the C++-based systems and core client-facing applications. If you have strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on C++experience and an automation-first mindset to deliver seamless user experiences in complex environments, and some experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI tools, we'd like to hear from you!

Responsibilities emphasize software development, automation, and AI enablement for observability rather than traditional SRE/operations.

This is a fully remote role!

Must-Haves:

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience (industry), with intermediate‑level C++ proficiency.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and solid C++ experience; familiarity with Python and/or Java.
• Experience with asynchronous programming; foundation in core CS concepts

is beneficial.

• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with a passion for learning new technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/LLMs and MCPs is a plus.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Previous work creating tooling for large language models, including familiarity with MCPs.
• Knowledge of data analysis and visualization to drive insight‑led improvements.
• Exposure to observability and reliability domains and automation at scale.

Your responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and enhance C++ services, libraries, and internal tools that power observability workflows.
2. Implement automation and AI/LLM–assisted workflows; design and build Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools around existing systems (e.g., health tooling) so internal AIs (e.g., ChatGPT) can answer operational questions and surface performance/health insights.
3. Work cross‑functionally with support, infrastructure engineering, and product teams to identify opportunities for automation, data surfacing, and performance improvements—then build them.
4. Autonomously explore the system to recommend additional data to expose and propose AI‑enabled automation or data‑surfacing integrations.
5. Apply solid engineering fundamentals, including asynchronous programming patterns, testing, and reliability best practices.
6. Create lightweight analytics and visualizations that illuminate system behavior and outcomes.
