• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing web applications

• API contract design (RAML/Swagger)

Your career opportunity

Financial Crime IT department is responsible for identifying, analysing and investigating financial crime risks, and ensuring that these risks are properly mitigated within HSBC. The aim of the project is to create a secure and scalable platform that utilises generative AI to automatically generate concise, accurate insights, empowering investigators to quickly assess relevant information, identify suspicious patterns, and accelerate investigations.

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer (Frontend Engineer) with broad expertise in developing UI applications using JavaScript, TypeScript and React. Experience with backend engineering and DevOps practices would be a significant plus.

Your responsibilities

1. Be responsible for implementing frontend for a microservice-based application that uses generative AI to aid financial crime investigators in their work
2. Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, secure and reliable code using approved design and coding standards
3. Design, develop and implement integration between web application and REST API services
4. Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and complete development, testing and deployment of the solution
5. Collaborate with Backend, DevOps, Data and other Frontend Engineers being part of the scrum team to achieve project goals
6. Ensure that technical and coding standards, as well as Agile and DevOps practices are followed in the team
