Requirements description

• PHP Expertise: Expert knowledge of application development in PHP is required, with a strong focus on modern development practices. Hands-on experience in application development (minimum 5 years in a commercial environment is needed)
• Frameworks: Vast experience with Symfony is a must
• Architecture: Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture. Experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, and multi-layered application structures
• Database Abstraction: Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), specifically Doctrine in Symfony, understanding of DQL (Doctrine Query Language) or similar abstraction layers
• Languages: Polish at native or C2 level and English at C1 level
• Nice to have: Experience in working with AI driven IDEs would be beneficial and a basic familiarity with Docker for local development is beneficial, but not critical as onboarding materials and team support are available
• Nice to have 2: Familiarity with Laravel is a plus
• Nice to have 3: Experience with Jira or similar task management tools is helpful but can be learned quickly

As a key technical leader, you’ll play a central role in designing robust architectures, optimizing backend performance, and guiding your team toward best practices. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers to build modern, reliable solutions that power exceptional user experiences.

Your responsibilities

1. Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and mentorship to the PHP team, ensuring best practices in architecture and coding standards
2. Requirement Analysis: Critically assess incoming requests (e.g. new features or modules), clarify goals, and ensure requirements are complete and logical
3. Solution Design: Evaluate whether to build, reuse, or propose alternative solutions (including AI or low-code tools) based on the problem context
4. Task Delegation and Follow-up: Break down complex tasks, delegate work to team members (including self), estimate effort, follow up on progress, and perform quality checks (e.g. code reviews, merge request validation)
5. Continuous Improvement: Assist in onboarding new technologies or practices, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of team processes
6. Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts and project managers to ensure smooth communication and desired progress
