Assistant Program Director, CRNA Program

Reports to: Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs: CRNA Program

Purpose of the Role: The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of theCRNA program in the absence of the Assistant Dean and Program Director. The Assistant ProgramDirector for the CRNA Program supports the student success of the OUHSC CON CRNA program across the student life cycle. The assistant program director is a key member in day-to-day operations, promoting astudent success model for the OU CON student experience, participating in accreditation processes,providing leadership in the development, implementation and assessment of academic programs and theCollege and University strategic plans.

Appointment

The Assistant Director reports to the Assistant Dean and Program Director for the CRNA program.

This position carries approximately 40% administrative release time; release time is negotiated annually withthe Dean based on the demands of the role and needs of the OU CON.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure: Eligible for or hold current registered nurse license for the State of Oklahoma is preferred.Unlicensed faculty may not teach undergraduate and graduate clinical nursing courses.

Education: Graduate degree in Nursing and Terminal Degree in Nursing, Health, Science, or SocialScience Related Field preferred. Faculty teaching in the PhD Program must meet the HSC Graduate College faculty appointment guidelines for Associate Member or Full Member Appointment at level 3 or 4 authority.

Minimal Experience

• 2 years of clinical practice experience for licensed applicants required
• Faculty teaching in advanced practice programs (NP, CNS, or CRNA) must hold appropriate specialty certification and have a minimum of one year of advanced practice registered nurse experience in the specialty.

Preferred Experience

• 5 years’ experience practicing as a CRNA
• 2 years’ teaching in CRNA program
• 2 years’ experience in Faculty leadership position in CRNA program
• A record of scholarship and extramural funding preferred
