About The Job:

City Light Capital is seeking an energetic, passionate, and intellectually curious Analyst to join our investment team. This position is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about venture capital, entrepreneurship, and impact investing. City Light Capital is seeking a team member who can learn and adapt quickly to a fast-paced startup environment and take on multiple projects simultaneously.

The position will be based in our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate inbound startup opportunities and assess alignment with City Light's investment thesis
• Support partners with due diligence of potential venture capital investments
• Conduct market research on City Light's three sectors of interest (health care, education, and climate)
• Help create quarterly financial reports and annual impact reports for investors
• Build and review operating models and scenario analyses for early-stage companies
• Help the team effectively manage/track a large seed portfolio (including portfolio onboarding)
• Assist portfolio companies with research related to business development
• Manage internal databases of deal opportunities and relevant relationships
• Develop and curate a network of founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem partners to support deal flow and market insight over time

Requirements

Ideal Qualifications:

• Strong academic record and excellent critical thinking, analytical, research, and communication skills
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Extensive experience in financial modeling and familiarity with reading company financial statements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated passion for City Light's mission
• Ability to work with cutting-edge tech
