Job description

🟣 You will be:

1. responsible for at-scale infrastructure design, build and deployment with a focus on distributed systems,
2. building and maintaining architecture patterns for data processing, workflow definitions, and system to system integrations using Big Data and Cloud technologies,
3. evaluating and translating technical design to workable technical solutions/code and technical specifications at par with industry standards,
4. driving creation of re-usable artifacts,
5. establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analysis, data model development, validation, and implementation,
6. working closely with analysts/data scientists to understand impact to the downstream data models,
7. writing efficient and well-organized software to ship products in an iterative, continual release environment,
8. contributing and promoting good software engineering practices across the team,
9. communicating clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences,
10. defining data retention policies,
11. monitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changes.

🟣 Your profile:

1. 3+ years’ experience with AWS (Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, S3),
2. 5+ years’ experience with data engineering or backend/fullstack software development,
3. strong SQL skills,
4. Python scripting proficiency,
5. experience with data transformation tools – Databricks and Spark,
6. data manipulation libraries (such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark),
7. experience in structuring and modelling data in both relational and non-relational forms,
8. ability to elaborate and propose relational/non-relational approach,
9. normalization / denormalization and data warehousing concepts (star, Snowflake schemas),
10. designing for transactional and analytical operations,
11. working knowledge of Git,
12. good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

🟣 Nice to have:

1. experience with Amazon EMR and Apache Hadoop,
2. experience with data modelling tools, preferably DBT,
3. experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions, preferably Snowflake,
4. familiarity with ETL tools (such as Informatica, Talend, Datastage, Stitch, Fivetran etc.),
5. experience in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes etc.),
6. cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) certification,
