About the position

We are seeking a skilled Java/Python Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of the critical enterprise-level application using Java, Apache Kafka, and Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK). The application calculates key metrics essential for the insurance business, while processing large volumes of data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java (Spring Boot) and Python. You will collaborate with business analysts, designers, and other stakeholders to implement technical requirements and ensure the operational stability and maintainability of the software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business analysts and designers to gather, analyze, and validate functional and technical requirements.
• Technical Implementation: Implement requirements within the given technical design, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
• Software Development: Participate in agile software development teams, contributing to the methods of software engineering and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Maintenance and Optimization: Develop, maintain, optimize, and service software or application components to ensure performance and reliability.
• Software Quality: Ensure the maintainability of developed software, considering aspects such as performance, data security, IT security, and ergonomics/usability.
• Operational Stability: Ensure the operational stability of software, proactively addressing issues and implementing improvements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with business experts, analysts, and designers to deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Competencies

• Fluent in written and spoken English (working language).
• Experience in object-oriented application development.
• Strong software development knowledge, including Java, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, Spring, and Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, preferably Git and GitHub.
• Basic knowledge of application repositories and chart repositories.
• Generic functional understanding of business features and architecture.
• Understanding of REST APIs endpoints and their purposes.
