Modus Create is seeking a Senior Level Functional Back End Engineer with expertise in Haskell and Nix to join our team in Poland. You will partner with cross-functional teams to provide strategic consulting and full lifecycle product development.

About You:

• Experience: Senior Level
• Haskell: Professional or personal experience with Haskell, including advanced features and navigating large codebases.
• Blockchain Core: Comfortable working on the core of a blockchain project (consensus, ledger, APIs, testing), not dapps or NFTs.
• Open Source: Interest in and some experience with open source community contributions.
• Nix: Passionate about Nix (or similar systems like Guix) and declarative, reproducible builds. Experience with systems like Bazel, Buck2, or Meson is a plus.
• Command Line: Fluent with the command line.
• DevOps Skills: Skilled in managing development pipelines, test automation, continuous integration, and cloud-based deployments.
• Software Engineering: Knowledgeable in software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Problem Solving: Ability to distinguish between accidental and essential complexity.
• Project Experience: Experience working in teams on large codebases or completing independently-driven projects.

Bonus Points For:

• Contributor to nixpkgs, or hosting private flakes or overlays.
• Experience in public communication (blog posts, community interaction).
• Experience with other functional programming languages (Scala, OCaml, Erlang, Clojure, etc.).
