• We’re looking for an intern passionate about gadgets, IoT, smart buildings and smart devices, who’ll join our team. You may be the one who makes things a little more connected and a loT smarter.

Your responsibilities

• Assist in creating highly impactful device integrations for the SmartThings and SmartThings Pro platforms
• Work with QA and cross-functional teams to support testing and implementation of technical solutions
• Assist in developing and testing SmartThings Edge drivers for IoT devices
• Help investigating and troubleshooting software and hardware issues reported during integration phase, using tools such as Sumo Logic, JIRA
• Support Project Managers and Engineers in the technical execution of integration projects

Our requirements

• Student of Computer Science, Telecommunication or similar field
• Interest in IoT, Smart Home or Smart Building technologies - any academic, personal or project-based experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn about IoT protocols and standards such Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave and KNX
• Good English - communication level
• Proactive attitude, curiosity and readiness to learn in a team from experienced engineers
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with mentorship

Optional

• Previous internship or project experience in software development, especially related to IoT, Smart Home technologies
• Curiosity about IoT concepts and familiarity with SmartThings platform or other IoT ecosystems
• Understanding of IoT communication protocols such as Zigbee, Z-Wave or Matter
• Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL
• Practical experience with JavaScript or Python gained through academic projects, internships or personal initiatives
• Basic Java knowledge
• Participation in hackathons, student research groups, students’ organizations
