Your responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM MQ on distributed platforms (Linux/Windows).
• Create and manage MQ objects (queues, channels, listeners, topics, etc.).
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity of MQ environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, performance issues, and integration failures.
• Manage MQ clustering, workload balancing, and failover configuration.
• Implement and maintain security standards (SSL/TLS, RACF/Active Directory integration, etc.).
• Automate routine MQ administrative tasks using scripting (e.g., REXX, Shell, Python).
• Participate in change management and deployment processes.
• Maintain MQ disaster recovery and backup procedures.
• Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to support new projects and existing environments.
• Document procedures, configurations, and issue resolutions thoroughly.

Our requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ administration
• Strong knowledge of MQ internals, message flows, and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with MQ security concepts and implementation.
• Familiarity with distributed MQ environments is a plus.
• Scripting skills (REXX, Shell, PowerShell, or Python).
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Optional

• Experience with MQ in a high-availability / enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App Connect Enterprise (ACE) is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud-based MQ services (e.g., AWS MQ, IBM Cloud MQ).
• MQ monitoring tools (e.g., Omegamon, Instana).
• Certification in IBM MQ or related technologies.
