• BSc in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• 5 years' experience in web application product development using Node.js stack (key skill)
• Experience with relational databases , specifically MSQL
• Experience with Agile/Sprint and Atlassiancollaboration tools

Job Description

This is a remote role to work on our core products and major customer solutions. Skytek is looking for  a back-end web application developer responsible for the development and maintenance of web  applications built with the Node.js software stack. Demonstrable experience and track record of  building advanced back-end web applications using NodeJS, Express, SQL. React.js for front end  components is a plus for this role. The role is backend focused working with frond end expert React inhouse developers

The developer is expected to be highly technically proficient in all aspects of the Node.js stack to be  able to implement, deploy and maintain web applications. The application domain within the space  domain so an understanding of space software standards such as ESA ECSS-E-ST-40C would be  beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of working in agile development processes is also essential.

Production experience with Docker, VM’s and AWS environments is also an advantage.

The role will also involve liaising with customer representatives for product demonstrations and  ongoing requirements capture and product definition so excellent communication and interpersonal  skills are required.

Your responsibilities

1. Work either remotely or in Skytek office to developing new advanced Space domain web applications
2. Develop and support current space domain web applications for key Skytek clients
3. Work directly with the customer on future requirements
4. Based on requirements implement, build and maintain web applications
5. Collaborate with current European development team.
