We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and adaptable Backend Lead to join our API Development (Consumption) team within Data Product Factory. Our vision is to be the primary centralized supplier of external commercial and open data for engagement teams, products, and platforms—enhancing AI and data capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in agile sprints within the Consumption team to design, develop, and maintain APIs that enable data asset creation and consumption.

• Identify opportunities to enhance our data products and services, driving continuous improvement.

• Mentor and guide engineers, analysts, and developers to build capability within the team.

• Explore and implement new offerings and components to enhance DPF services.

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable, robust, and performant backend processes via an API-first approach.

• Collaborate with consumers across service lines to optimize API usage and extend functionality.

• Build fault-tolerant, modular, and highly available backend code.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of backend development experience.

• Proficiency in Python and RESTful API development.

• Strong experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.

• Good understanding of Azure.

• Proven leadership skills in agile development environments.
