Senior Android Developer

Warsaw or Cracow - based opportunity with hybrid work model ( 8 days / month in the office).

As a Senior Android Developer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in the financial services industry, on a high-impact mobile application used by millions of users worldwide. The client is focused on delivering secure, scalable, and intuitive Android applications that meet the highest standards of performance and user experience. You will be joining a cross-functional mobile engineering team, contributing to core design and development decisions while helping to drive innovation and maintain best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing and developing scalable and maintainable Android applications

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Leading architectural decisions and guiding junior engineers

• Writing clean, testable, and efficient code using Kotlin and Java

• Implementing UI components following Material Design guidelines

• Integrating RESTful APIs and managing network communications

• Managing local data storage and synchronization

• Conducting unit testing and UI automation testing

• Participating in code reviews and technical discussions

• Monitoring application performance and optimizing for speed and memory usage

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Proven experience as a senior engineer or technical lead in Android development

• Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and Java

• Deep understanding of Android architecture components and Jetpack libraries

• Proficiency in Android Studio and the Android SDK

• Strong knowledge of Android UI/UX design principles and custom view creation

• Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Dagger or Hilt

• Familiarity with reactive programming using RxJava or Kotlin Coroutines

• Solid experience with RESTful APIs and JSON parsing

• Proficiency in version control with Git

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science and 7+ years of engineering experience

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with performance tuning and memory management

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines like Jenkins or GitLab CI

• Familiarity with Android security best practices and OWASP standards

• Hands-on experience with Room or SQLite for local data storage

• Understanding of background processing and multi-threading

• Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging and push notifications

• Proficiency in implementing offline-first architecture

• Experience with native code integration using Android NDK

• Knowledge of Gradle build system and dependency management

• Familiarity with Android accessibility features and guidelines
