Kraków - based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution focused on delivering robust and scalable technology solutions. You will contribute to the enhancement and support of distributed systems critical to the organization’s operations, focusing on observability, automation, and reliability in a hybrid cloud environment. Your expertise will help optimize application lifecycle management and monitoring frameworks, ensuring smooth and secure business operations across multiple platforms.

Your main responsibilities:

1. Developing and supporting distributed systems using Java
2. Implementing observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and OpenTelemetry
3. Managing logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for hybrid cloud environments
4. Troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues methodically
5. Utilizing application lifecycle management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Ansible
6. Automating CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment efficiency
7. Collaborating with technical support teams to lead technical conversations
8. Maintaining and optimizing RDBMS databases and job scheduling tools
9. Working within Agile teams to deliver continuous improvements
10. Ensuring security and vulnerability remediation across systems

You're ideal for this role if you have:

1. 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting Java-based distributed systems
2. Hands-on experience with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or similar
3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
4. Experience with application lifecycle management tooling including JIRA and Ansible
5. Familiarity with hybrid cloud monitoring tools such as Geneos, InfluxDB, or Splunk
6. Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments and job scheduling tools
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in Agile teams
8. Proven ability to lead technical discussions across diverse teams
9. Experience in CI/CD automation and vulnerability remediation
10. Knowledge of RDBMS databases and cloud technologies

It is a strong plus if you have:

1. Exposure to OpenTelemetry implementation
2. Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure in financial services
